2013 Thirteen Colonies Special Event
Call for Operators

PART is recruiting operators for the 2013 Thirteen colonies special event, which runs from July 1 to July 6 this year. The Thirteen Colonies special event was started five years ago by Ken Villone, KU2US, to celebrate the the thirteen original colonies and the founding of the United States. This year the event runs from from July 1 through July 6; special event stations will be on the air from all thirteen original colony states, with Massachusetts using the special event call K2H.  (more information is available at www.13colonies.info).

If you are interested in being an operator for K2H, or you have questions, please send an email to k1pub13@verizon.net or to 13colonies@wb1gof.org. You will be sent the 2013 Massachusetts Operator's Guide, which explains everything you need to know about participating. You can operate from any location in Massachusetts, and we need support for all modes-voice, CW and digital.  Although club member participation is encouraged, you do not need be a PART member to operate.

The club members who have participated in the past will tell you it's a lot of fun, and you will have the opportunity to see what it's like to be on the receiving end of pile-ups.

The 2013, 13 Colonies stations will operate from 09:00 AM Eastern Daylight Savings Time (1300Z),on July 1st, to 12:00 PM (midnight) Eastern Daylight Savings Time, July 6 (0400Z, July 7) .

There will be at least two S.E. stations per colony state. Also included will be Super contest stations, multi-operator Club stations and OM & XYL teams.

The total QSO count for 2012 was 62,079 - expect MORE in 2013!
